Debug with Read/Write process in IAR application

Hello All,

I am a new developer on BLE application. I have setup my PC. I can open the sample application on IAR embedded workbench. All sample projects are build successfully. We have a iPhone 4S device and we wants to communicate(send & receive data) with this iPhone 4S & cc2540 dongle.

I have able to send and receive data using sample app with the help of BTools.

So my question is, how can I debug send and receive data on IAR embedded workbench?

I am requesting you all please share with me your valuable experience with me.

In short:

Connect the CC Debugger to the CC2540 dongle.

In your IAR project, select Project > Download and Debug.

Hi ABO,

Thanks for response. using, select Project > Download and Debug sample projects successfully installed and run on the cc2540 dongle.

As per our requirement we are using cc2540 as a slave and iPhone 4s as a central.

Now, how can I send data to iPhone 4S from application when running on IAR embedded workbench ?

Hi Tapas,

Have a look at our sample project on the BLE Wiki

- Latest iOS source code for above demo

I guess the only way send data from a peripheral without being asked for it is by using GATT notifications / indications. In the example shown, the iPhone connects to the Keyfob running the Keyfob demo application, enables Accelerometer notifications and waits for the Keyfob to send notifications.

You can also perform characteristic value reads from your iOS application. This is also done in the demo linked above.
