OLP425 Demo Code

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BLE-STACK, CC2540, CC2560

I'm a new user and using the OLP425. I tried using the "make" function on the IAR Workbench for the demo code and I recieve 6 errors and a warning. I am not sure how to exactly fix it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Hi,  The current version of the ConnectBlue SDK expects Ti's SDK version 1.2.1.  The current TI SDK is 1.3.

You can get a full example from Connect Blue's technical support.  Good Luck.

  • Hi,

I have the same problem. Is it possible to download BLE STACK 1.2.1? I did send mail to connectblue, however it can take time before they reply. I need to continue my work asap cause I am on a deadline. Thank you.

UPDATE: connectblue replied instantly with the necessary files. my problem is now solved.

  • Hi,

I also faced the same problem. I was lucky to land in this discussion and my problem is solved. The response from connectBlue support team was very quick.

  • Hi

I am having the same problem and the dropbox line the connectBlue sent me is invalid.. could you send me the BLE-Stack 1.2.1 for CC2540. Thank you very much, my email is tianclch@hotmail.com

  • Hello Chen,

You could ask the connectBlue for a valid link. They were very helpful with me and also very fast regarding the response time.

  • Hello!

I'm new to the OLP25 too.

I have received the module, connected to the CC debugger (to power only) but I can't see the device on the Laptop or my smartphone. The red led blinks three times when I apply power.

Does this device needs a separate receiver???

please helpme I'm in a limited timeframe..

  • Hi Humberto

Did you install all the required driver software for CC debugger? I do not think the OLP425 needs any additional receiver to program.

    Regards,

    Chen

  • Hello Chen, thanks for answer, you are the first one that reply from the 3 or 4 emails I sent to TI directly.

I have installed the SmartRF Studio 7 and the SmartRF Flash Programmer. I can connect with the OLP425 using the CC debugger and the JSt cable.

I can see the module, I have not programmed anything, just test the CC debuger with.

My question is why I cannot see the OLP25 wireless, I mean, in the Laptop BT software...?  I purchased this device to use directly with Lap/Tablet/Smartpone.

I suupose it should 'appear' as a device to connect with.  Or does need a sort of wireless Usb dongle to receive it..?

  • Hi Humberto,

Just checking, I assume you have it but just in case, does your laptop/tablet/smartphone support Bluetooth LE? What devices are you using?

    BR,

    Serena

  • Hello Serena, for what I have been reading until this moment seems I do not have BLE compatible devices. I hava a old Toshiba with windows XP, and a couple of android phones. The Toshiba is running a BlueTooth stack so i do not have any USB dongle in use.

The laptop can pair with the phones, with the BT speakers, the phones can pair with the speakers too. but I can't discover theTI module, neither on phones or computer.

I'm affaraid all my stuff is not BLE compatible...

So I will begin a new quest to find a module with the size and programability of the OLP425 but capable to pair with legacyh devices..

could you recommend one?  My project is to replace RS232 cable, but i need to be extremely portable, small and battery operated.

    Thanks for your finest answers!

  • Hi Humberto,

I'm sorry, I do not have any recommendation but maybe look into dual-mode Bluetooth devices or Classic Bluetooth. I haven't look too much into them except that dual-mode supports Bluetooth LE and Classic Bluetooth devices. I do not know i f they can be small or not or if they are battery operated. The Bluetooth LE devices are able to be small, battery operated, and as the name suggests, low energy. Bluetooth LE also does not support audio for headsets and stereo music or high data rates for file transfers so I am not sure if Bluetooth LE would help in your case. Hope that helps!

    BR,

    Serena
