Hello,

It seems I got one of the very old mini kit versions (March 2010) I ordered it from Farnell. Anyway, I managed to get over the issue with the battery and constant beeping of the kit. (http://e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/538/p/196355/835762.aspx#835762)

I would like now to load it with a hex file that will be able to see it from Windows 8. I do NOT intent to use the TI USB dongle at all. just the keyfob. I have a Lenovo thinkpad with Bluetooth running Windows 8. I would appreciate a simple hex to load on the keyfob and enables it to be discoverable. No pairing or anything else needed.

Hi Basil,

You can program the keyfob with CC2540MiniDkDemoSlave.hex found at C:\Texas Instruments\BLE-CC254x-1.3\Accessories\HexFiles (default install directory). Use flash programmer to download the image to the CC2540.

When you have programmed the keyfob, you will need to reset it. When it starts up, the LED will be lit green for one second. You can toggle Advertisements on and off by pushing the right button on the keyfob. During advertisement, the LED will be blinking red.

Issue for me now is to get it to show on Windows 8.

Dear Nick,

I am trying to update the FW on the keyfob rev 1.1.1. with the CC2540MiniDkDemoSlave.hex...but when I try to downoad the hex into the CC2540 with the CC Debugger I have always this message:

"Flash image overlaps with the bootloader"

What does it mean?!?

At the moment I can't discover the keyfob with my USB Dongle...

Hello Luigi,

In SmartRF Programmer, do you have the "Program CCxxx or MSP430" selected in the "What do you want to program?" drop box?
