PAN1323 + MCU + Microphone/Speaker

Hi,

I'm trying to use the PAN1323 module with a mic/speaker to transfer audio to and from a phone. I can't seem to find any application notes or schematics that show the PAN1323 being connected to a microphone/speaker. Is there supposed to be some intermediary chip that takes in microphone/speaker inputs and converts it to the PCM inputs?

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Hi Aditya,

You would need a codec to interface with microphone/speaker. You will find an example schematic with I2S audio codec in the kit manual here: http://www.ti.com/tool/dk-lm3s9d96

Hi,

Sorry about the late reply. Would something like http://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX9860.pdf be appropriate for this purpose? I'm looking at the maxim chip specifically because I have an analog microphone.

I'm reading up on these CODECs and for I2S, there is a word clock or Left-Right Clock. The pan1323 however, only has a Frame Sync. Does this double automatically as the LRCLK when the interface is set to I2S?
