CC2564 HCI Write Link Supervision Timeout Command Disallowed

The Bluetopia stack (V1.2.1) attempts to increase the Link Supervision Timeout for a connection by sending an 0x0c37 (HCI_Write_Link_Supervision_Timout) command to the CC2546. The CC2546 always responds with "Command Disallowed". We would like to control the link timeout of our RFcomm connections from the Slave device. Why does the CC2564 respond with "Command Disallowed" and is it possible to lengthed the default timeout once a connection has been established?
