SCANNING WITHOUT BTOOL

Hi,

I am able to find my CC 2540 KEYFOB using the DONGLE with the BTOOL PC APPLICATION..

But is there any way to scan and find the devices without using the BTOOL,which means do i need to change any Parameters for acheiving this in the code or is there any other way..???

Help me with it..

Hi,

I also wanna add one more thing..

I need the scan operation to take place instantly without pressing any SCAN buttons or without giving any input such as clicking the scan button in the BTOOL..

so is there any s/w modification that can be done to achieve this task..??

Hi Raghav,

BTool is a PC Tool to manually control a Bluetooth low energy connection. You cannot script user scenarios with it. You could create your own PC application which does what you request but that's nothing I can help with other than refer you to the TI BLE wiki, where there are some source examples of PC tools designed with C#/JAVA/PYTHON.

my query is without using any tools can i make the dongle to scan for the devices???

Hi,

Yes of course, but then you need to dig into the HostTestRelease project and basically use the API to setup device (similar as BTool does on start-up) and start scanning. You can get tips on the correct function calls if you look in the simpleBLECentral code. I have not done this myself but it's possible.
