One way to test what state the device is in would be to check it by getting the value in the default switch of the simpleBLECentralEventCB().

In gap.h, there are 16 possible states the controller can be in.

I checked in "Default" switch case of "simpleBLECentralEventCB()" function.

It doesn't go to default case.

It doesn't go in any of this 16 possible states.

You have to put code inside the default case in order to see if there is a value.  The switch statement doesn't check all 16 states, it only checks the cases that are present.

O.K. then, you can test to see what state it is in by reading the simpleBLEState and simpleBLEScanning.  I believe it would have to be scanning in order to immediately connect to the device.

There is no time out if connection is not established in particular time.

You may want to put an OSAL_timer where if it is "connecting" for a certain period of time it goes back to scanning when the timer expires.

Is it possible to put timeout for connection request.

It should try may be for 3 seconds for link establishment after connection request.

if it doesn't connect it should stop it.

It should be possible to do that.  As I stated in my previous post, you could set an OSAL_timer when it is "connecting" and then have it move to another state after the timer expires.

You would have to determine where in the code it changes from scanning to connecting and insert it there.

I kept 3 second "osal_start_timerEx" just before connection request as follows 

osal_start_timerEx( simpleBLETaskId, LINK_ESHTABLISH_TOUT_EVT, MAXIMUM_LINK_EST_TIME );

Status = GAPCentralRole_EstablishLink( DEFAULT_LINK_HIGH_DUTY_CYCLE,DEFAULT_LINK_WHITE_LIST,addrType, peerAddr );

Now in "LINK_ESHTABLISH_TOUT_EVT"  i don't want to start scanning again , i want to cancel connection request that i had given.

I tried to cancel this connection request by resuming "scanning" again in this event but it doesn't cancel connection request

Hello Smitesh,

There is a Disconnect Command available for BLE that you should be able to put in your timeout event.  I don't have the exact format for that command right now, but you should be able to find it.

probably you are indicating following disconnect command 

GAPCentralRole_TerminateLink(0x0000);

I tried to disconnect using this command also but it is not working as well.

It only works when connection is already established.

not when BLE is trying to connect.

Hello.  This command does work when trying to connect.  Make sure that you are using the correct connection handle.  What status is the command returning?
