Android support for CC2540

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Hi all,

I checked that the cc2540 can be scanned by some android apps.

Is there any possibility to do write and read operation with android apps?

Thanks

Arul

  • Hi Arul.

    Yes there is.

The motorola Razr provides support for BLE. (Also I9300 has support, but is much more hazzle in my opinion)

Motorola provides an ICS R2 pack, and in this there is an heart-rate application you can use to get dummy data of heart rate from the CC2540 to the phone.

If you have this phone you can download the pack from HERE.

See img below to see how the application looks like. :)

I'm currently working on what you are asking for, and have only got to the point of sending strings from the cc2540 keyfob to a pc.

  • Hi,

Dose TI  provide BLE Demo app for android V4.2 devices?

    Thanks

    Arul

  • Hi,

The motorola Razr ICS only have the support that i know of.

You have THIS thread for i9300 which is interesting.

I would adwise you to also check out the cc2540 TI wiki page which contains a lot of useful information regarding Android applications to BLE.
