CC2540 USB Dongle automatically Driver Installation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Hello ,

I'm using CC2540 USB Dongle. The driver installation is only manually possible, but i need it for my application automatically. how can I make it under windows XP / 7.

Thanks for the support.

  • You need to buy VID/PID from USB forum. Then create your own driver version. Finally you submit the driver to Microsoft. If MS will approve your drivers they will be available through Windows Update.

If your application can use drivers shipped with Windows you can try to implement Microsoft OS descriptors. Windows will then enumerate device and install drivers without any user action.

  • for info i have played the CC2540 USB Dongle Firmware: CC2540_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_All.hex.

why I need a new or own driver if one already exists, this from TI : ccxxxx_usb_cdc.inf ?

    Regards
