As of a year ago, there was not any AVRCP support on BLE, but have there been any changes here? If not, are there any other alternatives here that could be used with iOS and Android, besides HID over GATT? I give that disclaimer just because I know that there is no native iOS support for HID over GATT for controls; a developer must design an app to implement this.
