Update firmware does not work

Hi,

I just try to update my sensortag via OTA on iPad. Here are the steps I did:

- I downloaded image 1.5, open it via email.

- activate OTA profile

- select "share files"

- Select "SensortagImgA_v1_5.bin" . I can not select Image B as it always tell me : "wrong image type (...) which is the same as on the peripheral".

- Update start, takes 3 minutes

- A pop-up says "firmware upgrade complete (..) press side button of sensor tag to reconnect"

When I re-enter the apps, it always tell me that my FW version 1.0 . Beside I sometimes get the popup telling that I am using a old firmware.

Any advice to get the firmware updated?

Thanks a lot.

  • I am having the same problem, though I am using ios7 on iphone 5s and the firmware on my SensorTag is 1.01. Also, I used iTunes to share the .bin files for 1.5 with the SensorTag app.

  • Has anyone solved this issue ? Looks like the last post was Dec last year !

I have the Sensor tag and am prompted to update the firmware with no good results. In addition I have looked for some instructions and update information and there has been no clear answer to this issue. There must be a solution by now and I am hoping someone can point me in the correct directions of where to find it :} .

  • Here is the link to the instructions for Over the air update

I was told you had to have the debugger in order to update but that is not correct. You can update the firmware via the iPhone app. It did not work until I selected "Safe mode" then all went fine.

Hope that helps someone else out.
