MSP430FBT5190 PAN1325A bluetooth not visible

I have the ethermind bluetooth stack running on the MSP430FBT5190 in conjunction with the PAN1325A.

The code works on the MSP-EXP439F5438 experimenter board and you can see the device via
bluetooth when performing a search (which uses the PAN1315ETU but that shouldn't make a difference).

This  same schematic has been transferred to our own development boards. However when you run the firmware
the bluetooth device is not visible. I have scoped the data on the TX,RX, slow clocks lines and it looks good
(voltages are the correct levels & frequencies (baud rate = 115200) look good)

The PCB layout has been performed in accordance with the recommended design guidelines (no copper ground
plane, vias under the pads, edge of the board, etc.) . The production was performed by a contractor but  they
were instructed to follow the reflow temperature requirements stipulated in the datasheet.

Has anyone else experienced this problem ?

  • Hi Ian,

We are not supporting the ethermind stack anymore, only SSO's Bluetopia Stack (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Bluetopia_Stack).
The Bluetopia stack is provided royalty free, and will run on any MSP430 as long as it fits the memory requirement.

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.
