How can i verify BLE RF performance of CC2540

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Hi

I am totally new for a TI chipset, and I am a hardware RF engineer with little software knowlegde.

There is a PCB with CC2540 chip, and i got SmartRF studio tool, now I want to verify the RF performance.

The thing is I even do not know how to bring the PCB to BT test mode.

1, do i need to download specific software for testing?

2, how to communicate the PCB with a PC? UART of USB?

3, do I need ccdebuger?

best regards

  • Hi,

To be able to use the SmartRF studio tool with your design you will need a CCDebugger or a SmartRF05 Evaluation Board to handle the communication between your hardware and the PC tool.

With the SmartRF tool you can perform various RF testing, so this tool a good starting point for you.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Johan

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I tested the Tx performance with a CCdebuger, though could not to do Rx package test.

A SG called IQ2010 send a BLE package but no results showing at SmartRF studio RX package window.

I am sure the IQ2010 is able to send standard package.

1, how to do non-signiling Rx test with SmartRF studio?

2, how to do singning Rx test? Need a special software?

    Best regards
