RF PCB design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the specs for the RF design on any of the pcb's for CC2541? Specifically, for the sensor tag, and mini development kit (keyfob) and stamp design. I don't have any software to open any of the pcb files so I can't just copy them, unless someone knows a way to open them that doesn't require expensive software.
I basically just want to know the transmission line designs from the CC2541 rf pins (rfin &rfout).
Are they microstrip? What are the dimensions of the even/odd microstrip lines as the come out of rfin &rfout and go into the balun? What are the microstrip lines as the come out of the unbalanced port and go to the antenna?

Thank you.

  • Hello Ernesto,

Both the sensortag and the keyfob for CC2541 are Cadstar files. You can download a demo version of cadstar here. It is limited to 50 components, but you can nevertheless open and view designs even tough they contain more than 50 components. The postage stamp design is made in Cadence, so then you will need to find another appropriate viewer. In the reference design files you will also find a Readme.txt file which contains all the information on the PCB type and stack-up info.
