CC2541 original board not programming

Hello Michael,

It is strange that there is no EB ID number for the device.  Is the IEEE number for your custom board or the EM?

Click on the Read IEEE when your custom board is connected.

What color is the LED on the CC debugger?

I had clicked that. It was for the custom board.

Debugger was green.

Can you erase and program? What about reading the flash into a hex file? If so, do that and compare the files manually. Flash does go bad after a while. If you find that one specific address is botched, you can edit the linker file to not use that memory section.

Is this error occurring on just one board, or many?

It says "CC2541 - ID0000: Erase and program OK". I compared the hex files however and the sizes are different by about 250KB. This is a new chip by the way. Another update on the situation is that I noticed that the chip drops connection with the CC Debugger after programming (Green Light->Flash Chip[Erase and Program OK]->Red Light]). 

Open the files and do a diff  (a comparison)on them. You can open them in any text editor.

We only have one custom board currently (prototyping still), but it does in fact flash correctly onto the CC2541EM+SOC-BB.

Do you ever write anything to the last 128 bits of flash? Are they always 0xff?

I don't understand what "that one"/"the empty one" means. Use words like "the file I read from the device" or "the hex file IAR generated"

On the board which actually programs, the last few bits are -

The last line just means end of file record.

It seems you can program TI evaluation boards without issue? If so, it may simply be a problem with your connections to the debugger. Or even a problem with the power supply to your board.
