Determine MAC addresses in a connection

Is it possible to ascertain the MAC addresses of the devices while connected? If so, what API functions provide this.

I am most interested in determining the MAC address of the Central that is connected to a Peripheral (from within the Peripheral firmware), as it is possible for me to provide the Peripheral's MAC address as a characteristic that can be read by the Central).
