hi,

can anyone please answer me how a ble device can connects to the internet. is it possible for a ble device to communicate directly through wifi with extra hardware in the ble device.

Don't understand your inquiry very well. If you have BLE device, your BLE device should communicate with a BLE center. you might have a wifi-enable Host system wired to BLE center so you can bridge the BLE signals to internet.

the reason i asked the question recently i saw board with both ble soc(qn 9020) and wifi soc.

thats why i got confusion.

can you pls explian it to me.

hi yikai chen,

inorder to control a ble device through internet we need to two smart phones(center devices) one should be in the range of ble device which acts as a bridge and other with user who is far away from the device.

can you please explain the process how it happens.

Actually, one BLE device can only connect to one BLE center. I don't see the the reason why you need two smartphone to act two BLE center. It should like BLE device talk with one smartphone with BLE center and another smart phone communicate with the smartphone with BLE center by internet/intranet to access BLE device.

BLE device <----------------------------> SmartPhone1 (BLE center) <---------------------->SmartPhone2

Yes, you can find soc with wifi and connect BLE center with UART.

in the case wifi soc as a central: the wifi soc communicates with ble soc through uart .so here wifi soc no need to have ble protocol stack?

is it correct.

here wifi soc just communicates with smart phone and acts as a bridge between smartphone and ble device.

whenever the smart phone reaches to the range of ble device then smart phone acts a central.

in wifi soc the firmware defines what?
