Send data to master

Good Morning,

i have started to dig into ble but i still don't get what is the best ( correct) method to send data from a peripheral device to a phone or a usb key. As for what i understood until now the answer should be a custom profile tailored to the application unless my data type fit in the standard ble profiles provided with the stack. The second thought was about a more generic profile which can be as an evelope to send different types of data for different kind of applicatons.

My goal for now  is to transmit imu data at the highest refresh rate possible.

Hope some of you can clear things up for me a little bit

  • Hi Andrea,

Yes, you are correct. you can use BT SIG adopted profiles to maintain interoperability with other apps. For example, connect a heart rate sensor with any heart rate app on the stores. For a sensor based application it makes sense to look at our SensorTag project and how it transfer data to our SensorTag iOS app. For beginner to BLE, it would be helpful to start with SimpleBLEPeripheral. You can then use browse the services and characteristics using the SensorTag iOS app in advanced mode.
