Hi,

I am looking for a classic BT solution that can do 1000m in range. Can the CC256x devices do this? Also, is it possible to put a CC2590 on it to help go further? if not 1000m, what can it do?

Hi TI Lady,

1Km is not possible with BT. Refer to the CC1xxx series.

FYI. CC2590 does not work with CC2564 either.

I'd like to suggest using a ZIgBee solution. BT at 1km doesn't seem feasible nor robust enough. Can this application use ZigBee? What is the gating factor for the protocol, and for the distance?

Hi,

I don't recommend BT for such distances. Rather I recommend you to use our sub 1GHz parts which are defined for such long distances. Is there a reason to try to stick to BT? Which devices are your peer devices? who are you connecting to?
