Would like to hear from others about their experience getting through FCC/CE Mark relative to SAR (Specific Absorbtion Rate) testing on Bluetooth.
I am interested in portable products that would be located right up against the user's body/ear.
There are of course plenty of BT hands-free devices that sit on your ear. These all tend to be Class 2 (low power) Bluetooth and so they probably get an exemption on SAR testing.
Is it possible to get approved with a Class 1.5 (like CC256x) or Class 1 device ? Can anyone point me to such approved devices. And certainly if you have been through the process please pass along some description of Cost/Time involved.
I believe it should be possible since WiFi on cell phones operate at comparable power levels to Class1 Bluetooth. But being DSS, they perhaps get different treatment in terms of SAR.
Thanks
