CC2541 spikes on P0.7

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541

Hi,

I am trying to interface sensor with P0.7 using ADC.

With this ADC, I am observing spikes at 30 ms. This is interfering with output of sensor.

P0.7 is also SFR for PCON. Is it causing this issue?

Has anybody face this issue? Any solution?

  • What CC2541 HW do you use? Do you use your own customized PCB? I suggest you connect scope to P0.7 to check first.

  • Hi,

Yes, we are using customized PCB.

    Here is observation:

    1. When CC2541 is in advertisement mode, I can observe some spike of Voltage level = Vdd. It's frequency changes continuously.

    2. When CC2541 connects to host/ mobile application then Spikes can be observed at every 30 ms with magnitude of vdd.

I observed it in scope only.  Please find attached snapshot from scope.

I am observing this spikes even when sensor is not connected.

  • 1. You can check if your P0.7 is connected to other circuit that might cause this pulse.

    2. What FW do you run on your CC2541? You have to check if your P0.7 is config to GPO and give a pulse periodically.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for response.

It was actually DCDC controller bit which was defined in BLE stack 1.4.0. as P0_7.

So, actually it was creating an issue because in hal_sleep.c it was toggling DCDC bit.

    Solved it by removing toggling.
