Difficulty in setting Tx Power level in StoneStreet One Bluetopia stack

Hi,

I am attempting to use VS_Set_Max_Output_Power() to adjust down the transmit power of a PAN1326 module with SSO v1.4 bluetopia stack. I am making the API call during startup after I obtain the BluetoothStackID. The module tx power appears to be the same as it was before I added this call. Am I missing something else? Thanks.

Hi,

You need to change the TX power from Service pack.

1. Please get the Service pack from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Downloads

2. Now open it in Bluetooth hardware evaluation tool(BHET) http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Bluetooth_Hardware_Evaluation_Tool

3. Go to the modify SP tab on your left and you will have the option to change the output power

4. Please also disable the sleep in the Modify SP tab.

5. Now Save as CC256X.h.

6.once saved take the back up of the existing file (v1.4\MSP430_Experimentor\Bluetopia\btpsvend\CC256X.h) and replace it with the newly saved file.

7. build and download the code, this binary will have the new power levels

I will try this out. Just curious, what is the purpose of the VS_Set_Max_Output_Power() API then?
