CC2541 Current Reduction for Initialization

I am troubled with the large current which is about 8mA and  lasts for about 500ms for activating the CC2541.

The problem is also stated in the following links

I have  made sure that the LED and LCD are off during the intialization.

However, the current consumption stays the same(8mA in 500ms).

Are there any other method to reduce the current?

  • Hello Hong,

    This is due to the initialization of the BLE stack and only occurs at power on or reset. Meaning that when the device wakes up from sleep to do any period task it will wake up and start the radio in less than 1 ms. Read more about the current consumption in the following app note:
