Hello CC2564 team,

I am using the CC2564MODNCMOET and had a question regarding certification. We are seeking a pre-certified solution, but this would only be pre-certified if the antenna is exactly as on the reference design. However, we would like to just have an SMA connector on the board and then use standard external SMA antennas. Is it possible to do this and still be certified (or get certified with relatively less testing)?

Another issue is that the antenna does not seem to be easily available in small quantities. Would we be able to order the antenna in small quantities?

Hi Alyssa,
Unfortunately, the approach that you mentioned affects the certification because of the antenna performance. The customer will have to re-certify it again.
Regarding the antenna, it should be available in small quantities. What is the minimum amount that the vendor asked for?

Hi Miguel,

They have asked for 20 to sample with. I found on the wiki that antennas can be purchased through Mag. Layers Scientifics-Technics Co. LTD. Is this the recommended route to place an order?

Hi Alyssa,

Yes, that is correct channel to purchase it. They should be able to provide 20 samples. Let me know if you have any issues.

Hi Alyssa,

At this moment, the Mag Layer antenna is the only one certified with the MODN.
