sensorTag magnetometer glitch problem

I have been testing the power consumption of each individual sensor on SensorTag (magnetometer, gyroscope, accelerometer, and etc.)

Basically I followed the same methodology in application note AN092 to measure the power consumption: I took out the coin battery, soldered a 10-ohms resistor in series, and fed in the power from external supply.

It seems pretty weird once I turned on magnetometer, as shown in the graph, we can see some “glitches” (only 2 in the graph, the middle waveform is the BLE packet), which is actually periodic.

As labelled by the cursor, the peak current of the glitch is 29.5mV/10ohms=2.95mA, and the duration time is 660us. The glitches have a period of roughly 6.4ms.

I checked the community but it seems nobody has post similar question before…

I am curious if this is the result of the particular mechanism of the sensor itself, or some circuitry problem on the sensorTag board.

I really appreciate if anyone could give me some hints to fix this problem. Thanks!!
