Hi, I have two SmartRF06EBs with CC2650EMs. I downloaded the latest SmartRF Studio 7 2.0.0, did a complete install on Win7 and rebooted when prompted. Then plugged in the first EB, per the EB Users Guide - "Connect your SmartRF06EB to the computer with a USB cable and turn it on. If you did a complete install of SmartRF Studio, Windows will recognize the device automatically and the SmartRF06EB is ready for use!". After plugging in, I saw the USB drivers being automatically installed, no problems reported. When I started Studio and clicked the "Find Device" button, it didn't find the EB. Same result with the second EB. I see them both in Device Manager as two "USB Serial Port", two "TI XDS100v3 Channel A", and two "TI XDS100v3 Channel B". I've tried rebooting a couple times and reinstalling the USB drivers but got same result afterward.
For comparison, I moved one of the EBs to an old XP box I still have. After installing Studio and rebooting (although not prompted I did it anyway), I plugged in the EB, saw the USB drivers being automatically loaded, no problems reported - same as the Win7 box. When I started Studio and clicked the "Find Device" button, it reported "Texas Instruments XDS100v3A (XDS device ID=0x ... - Unknown" in the list of connected devices. I double-clicked there and it popped up a dialog "Select target device type or automatic detection" with a bunch of radio buttons labeled "CC2650", "CC2640" ... "Auto detect". I clicked "Auto Detect" and then OK, and then the "unknown" at the end of the "Texas Instruments XDS100v3A ..." string changed to "CC2650". Although there was a glitch with the dialog (whatever radio button I selected wouldn't stay highlighted), it didn't affect the operation as it auto-detected the CC2650 anyway.
I had seen somewhere to check DN304 if there are USB driver problems, but it doesn't support SmartRF06EB (yet).
One last point - I powered up the two EBs without USB connections and ran the PER test between them - it worked fine.
Summary - both boards are good, one works fine with Studio under XP, neither works with Studio on my Win7 system (yet everything looks fine in Device Manager), and DN304 is no help because it doesn't support SmartRF06EB (yet).
Any help would be appreciated greatly.
