Hello TI,

What’s the minimum needed to program a CC2650? I don’t think the sensor kit is adequate for my needs.

Would it be the SimpleLink CC2650 EVM + the SmartRF Flash Programmer 2 SW?

Hi Dan,

To use the EVMs you need a SmartRF06EB board. If you do not have this already I recommed buying the CC2650DK (www.ti.com/.../cc2650dk). The SmartRF06EB includes a XDS100 debugger.

Hello all,

I will work on CC2650STK. So should we understand that the CC2650DK is the least to start programming and debugging this kit. Or IAR / Smart Flash Programmer 2 and JTAG emulator (XDS100 for instance) would be enough for our purposes?

cJTAG 2 pin:

VDD <==> TVD, GND <==> GND, TMS <==> TMS, TCK <==> TCK, RST <==> RST

I've got CC2650STK programming working with external XDS100V3.

Remember to connect DIS to ground if you are using TI JTAG.

Fantastic, you mean I can begin developing with my SensorTag without the need to wait for the DevKit?

I have a XDS200 and a CTI20-ARM10 adapter which plugs straight into that header you have shown in the picture.

Q: Which debuggers are supported?

SmartRF06EB using XDS100v3 (included on board)
XDS100v3 standalone (from 3rd party manufacturers)
XDS200 (from 3rd part manufacturers)
CC DevPack for the new SensorTag (new XDS debugger)

I don't have a XDS200, but I guess it will work with a few setting changes.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your post above showing access to the pins, as I could see adapter socket I do not open the second covering of the SensorTag to see the JTAG pins.

I have updated the post about the DevKit being out of stock to make people aware of their being another available option that allows programming, but does not provide access to non-JTAG pins on the CC2650 (unlike the DevKit).

As there are so many sensors already with the SensorTag this should be fine for a lot of prototypes.

Hi guys,

i will add my question to discution to not duble the topics.

I can see that both cc2650 and cc2640 have cjtag and on pinout there are 4 pins for standard jtag. on wiki i can see http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC13xx_CC26xx_Tools_Overview

that it is possible to use segger j-link debugger. Can you 100% confirm me that ?

Hi Matt,

Segger J-link works, but 4-pin JTAG is required.

Hello, do you know where is the nRESET pin for the 14-pin TI JTAG?
I bought a EMBEST XDS100V3, but I´m not able to find any reset signal for it on this link:

Hello,

I reproduced the tida-00374 board but when I try to program the CC2650 installed there by smartrf06 and flash programmer, the chip is recognized but the flash size results 0k and the programming fails (as well as flash reading). I checked the debug interface (cjtag) harware and everything seems to be ok: can you help me?
Can Tida - 00374 board be purchased?
