Hi,

BTool works with the following TI usb dongle ( CC2540EMK-USB).

I am using Windows 7 (32 bit) . The thing is that I want to communicate with the USB dongle with my own Java or C code. Can anyone advised me how to proceed with this problem?

What kind of bluetooth stack do I need? Can I use Widcomm? I want to open serial communication link with the USB Dongle using RFComm.

Hi Jess,

You can use any BT stack that can send HCI & TI BLE Vendor Specific HCI commands. There are some PC examples for controlling the CC2540USB dongle with the Host Test Release firmware on the BLE wiki: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC254X_PC_Examples

I tried to download the " JavaSimplePeripheral" but the link is not working and this software is not available. Where can I get this software?

I think the py examples would be a good start for understanding the workflow.
