[cc2650] DC-DC Converter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541, CC2650

Hello,

I am porting cc2541 to cc2650. In 2541, I need control the DC-DC Converter ON/OFF by setting the GPIO pins. In 2650, there is internal DC-DC Converter, do I still need set anything to turn it ON/OFF? Or does it turn ON/OFF automatically? Do I need bypass it if I need measure the battery voltage?

Thanks!

Best wishes!

Yu Wan

  • Hi Yu,

In the default SDK project configuration, control of the CC2650 internal DC/DC is automatic. For more details, please refer to the CCFG description in the "Device Configuration" section of the TRM (SWCU117). The SW settings for the CCFG are defined in ccfg.c (part of CC26xxWare / driverlib).

    Best wishes
  • Hi Yu,

You do not need to turn the internal DCDC off to measure the battery voltage. The internal DCDC powers the VDDR domain and the internal battery monitor is connected to VDDS.

    Cheers,
