Differences between CC2564B and CC2564

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2564

I have designed my system using TIVA M4 and CC2564B. The software is CCS 6.0.

Then I designed a board using CC2564.

But I got this:

OpenStack().
BSC_Initialize Failed: -4.
Unable to open the stack.

Is there any difference between CC2564B and CC2564?

How to solve this problem?

Thanks~

  • Hi,

    You can take a look at: www.ti.com/.../cc2560.pdf (Table 1-1).
    The difference is the lack of assisted mode in the CC2564 variant.

    From a hardware perspective, both devices are pin compatible. From a software perspective, each
    device requires a different service pack.

    For the CC2564, you must remove the "__SUPPORT_CC256XB_PATCH__" define from the project and rebuild.

  • Thanks for your reply.
    Following your guide I remove the "__SUPPORT_CC256XB_PATCH__" define from the project and rebuild, but I got this.

    OpenStack().
    HCI_VS_InitializeAfterHCIReset
    VS_Update_UART_Baud_Rate success.
    PatchDevice[17] Result = -14 Status 0

    would you please give me some advices to solve the problems above?

  • Hi,

    I have not seen this error before.
    The error means that the download firmware has failed in between. The error code is: "BTPS_ERROR_HCI_DRIVER_ERROR"

    This indicates that there is some problem in the UART communication... You need to confirm the boot up process as per the datasheet and also confirm the Host UART functionality.

    Gigi Joseph.
