HI,

We are working on Multiple connections. We want to connect Multiple Mobile (let's say 5 mobile at a time and want to measure the RSSI). We have Checked the SPP and SPPLEdemo but unable to connect Multiple device.. Right now we are trying two simultaneous connections but unable to do. Is anyone has experience with Multiple connections.

Hi,

The SPPLEDemo supports multiple connections out of the box. By default it is set as "2". The SPPDemo does not support this. You will have to tweak the apps a bit to enable support for this.

Can you tell me why? Where is this included? I don't see it in the latest SDK releases...

Nilesh,

The GDI API is deprecated and is not used anymore. Its APIs were consolidated and moved into the GATT APIs. As mentioned in the link you provided the app you are using is also deprecated. As Gigi mentioned, SPPLEDemo supports multiple connections for both SPP and SPPLE.

Which SDK and version are you using, MSP430, Tiva? What specific issues are you having with SPPLEDemo?

We are using MSP430F5438A with TiWi-uB2 module. SDK we are using latest SDK : CC256x MSP430 Bluetopia SDK v1.5 R2 .

Few questions :
We want to connect Multiple Mobile(Android phones) in SPP mode or LE mode. So is it possible using SPPLEDemo ?(We want to connect 5 Android phones - Simultaneously and want to monitor the RSSI(this we can monitor at Mobile side too) ).

We have tried with SPPLEDemo but in multiple connections we are able to send data from one device only. When we send from another second device unable to send it. Can't we use the above code of Multiple connections ? We need simultaneous 5 connections.

Nilesh,

Yes it's possible with SPPLEDemo, increase the values of MAX_LE_CONNECTIONS and MAX_SIMULTANEOUS_SPP_PORTS to suit your needs.

Which LE role are you supporting? Note that as an LE peripheral you can only be connected to one device, this is a limitation of the Bluetooth 4.0 specification which is currently the specification supported by the stack. However, as an LE central, you can connect to multiple devices. An LE central scans and initiates connections to devices, and LE peripheral advertises and accepts connections from devices, which procedures are you using?

If you are still having issues with sending please attach a console log if possible so I can see the exact steps you are taking.

Hi Samuel,

Thanks. We need to increase Link Keys also for SPP. We are able to connect 3 mobile at time and do data communication in between.
We are working on RSSI now and if any issue will let you know.
