Hello,

can i sell PCBs with cc2540 with modified Example Projects with the Bluetooth Trademark. Or do i have to certify and pay fees on bluetooth.com ? Do i have to be a Bluetooth SIG member ?

Hello Drave,

Use of the Bluetooth trademark/logo requires BT certification of your product. Please see this wiki article for details on how to certify your product: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../How_to_Certify_your_Bluetooth_product

Thank you for the fast answer.

I have the cc2540 and the BLE Stack 1.4 but with my own Profile, so it's a qualified product ? So i don't have to pay anything ?

Hello,

could you please help me to make a decision. I developed a product with the cc2540 and i want to sell it, i've produced like 50 pieces, but i really didn't know that i have to pay a listing fee. So it's depressing for me that i can't sell it to earn that much money to pay the listing fee, can i legally sell this product if i dont mention the word Bluetooth ? I mean i would advertise the product with "wireless" i would not place the word bluetooth in my text or write it on the product, would it still be legal ? I'm kind of trapped because i don't want to use the cc2540 anymore, i want to use the cc26xx in my further products, if i would pay the listing fee for the cc2540 i couldn't use the cc26xx within because it has another QDID.
What would you do in my situation ?

If you sell a product using Bluetooth technologies, you are legally obligated to comply with Bluetooth licensing requirements. It doesn't matter if you call it Bluetooth or not.

FWIW, the Bluetooth SIG has a Innovation Incentive Program where small companies can list products at a reduced fee
