CC2540 BLUE TOOTH MODULE BLE DOES IT SUPPORT M66 OF QUECTEL WHICH HAS BUILT IN BLUE TOOTH VERSION 4 AND SUPPORTS SPP

WE ARE DESIGNING BLUETOOTH USING THE CC2540 AND WOULD LIKE TO PAIR IT WITH THE M66 BLUE TOOTH , AND USE COMMANDS . PLS CONFIRM DOES THE MODULE SUPPORT OR IS THERE ANY CONVERSION.  BLE IS 4.0 VERSION AND M66 IS VERSION 3.0.

    Hi,

    According to this page, www.quectel.com/.../prodetail.aspx, the M66 module supports BT3.0. Bluetooth LE was not introduced until BT4.0. Since CC2540 is a single-mode BLE wireless MCU, a peer device must support BT4.0 LE at a minimum. Therefore, you cannot support a BLE connection with the M66 module.

    Please consider using a dual-mode BT device, such as a CC256x.
