Hi,

It will only be possible firmware update (OAD) using an external memory in CCS? I am asking this because my application is very small: receiving interruption of an external pin and communicate with an accelerometer.

Hi Hugo,

We are currently supporting OAD of application only using internal flash. This requires the application image to be within 38k which it sounds like your application does.

I'll add that yes, CCS will only support external OAD because there is no way to add the CRC to the linker file in CCS for internal OAD.

Also, for the current IAR internal mechanism, you can get another 4-8 kB if you are willing to sacrifice 1-2 NV pages.

Yes, I saw the example for IAR, is there some for CCS? if any, where can I find?

There is no internal OAD CCS project for the reasons mentioned above. The external example should be ready in July.

Hi,
A program to receive an external interrupt is small enough to fit in an internal memory. Therefore, the external memory would be used only for OAD? I could turn off the external memory and connect it only when there is an update of frmware?

For clarity, I want to put a FET transitor to connect the memory only when you need to upgrade OAD thus avoiding the consumption of memory when it is in shutdown mode which is 1uA, which for my project this value should be taken into consideration.

Hi,
A question about using the FET transistor to turn on the external memory when there is the need for a firmware update (my previous question).
Can I change the bootloader code to keep the pin active that is connected to the FET to keep the external memory supplied during firmware update?

OAD for CCS project is ready in July. If it's possible would you please provide BIM & OADTarget HEX file to me ??? setting use default.
