Does CC2541 support multi-central device to one peripheral device?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541, CC2640

Does CC2541 support multi-central device to one peripheral device? I want do Firmware update and not break the connection when the target peripheral device has connect to a central device.

  • From the release notes, I found the below information.

Multi-role and combo-role support has been enhanced. The BLE stack can now
support simultaneously advertising and/or scanning while in a connection as
either a master or a slave. This allows for a central device to perform
device discovery while in a connection. All previous rules for multiple
simultaneous connections as a central device still apply (see v1.1a release
    notes below).

So I think the chip shall support this feature. But I need confirm this. And where can I found the reference code if CC2541 supported?
  • Hello. What you are describing is a new Bluetooth 4.1 feature. Therefore, it is not supported by cc254x. It is however, supported by cc2640. See an example here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Cc2640_MultiRole_Demo
