Downloading custom firmware to CC2650STK via Android app

Dear All,

This seems to be a very basic question but I failed to find the answer in the docs of the forum. Sorry if it has been answered elsewhere. After building the example projects with CCS I end up having an .out file and a .hex file. How do I create an image that I can copy to my Andorid phone to download it as a custom firmware?

CCS does not currently support OAD. This will be supported in the 2.0.1 release in late July.

OK, thanks. So, if my understanding is correct, the OAD image will just fall out at the end of the normal IAR build process. Correct?

Yes, that is correct. You will have the image after following steps from section 11 of the OAD guide.

Note that there are some modifications to the guide described in the FAQ: e2e.ti.com/.../404236
