CC2541 certification for ERIP testing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541

Hi all,

Can I use smartRF studio 7 tool for certification lab to EN 300 328 1.8.1 standard?
Is there anyone who has experiences with certification? I need to find any guidelines where are these parameters described. Thank you any answer.

Steven

  • Hello Steven,

Yes, CC2541 can be certified under 1.8.1, we have many customers that have done this. Since the output power is lower than 10 dBm all the new requirements regarding adaptivity, dwell time, etc. do not apply.

Regarding use of smartRF studio 7 for facilitating the cert, I'll need to check, but you should consult with your test facility on the test enviornment.

    Best wishes
  • Hi Steven,

Please have a look at the certification articles in the CC254x part of the BLE wiki (ti.com/ble-wiki). SmartRF Studio can be used to set the radio in correct mode, another approach is to use the method described here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../FCC_ETSI_Test .

Remember that BLE is certified as "other type of wideband modulation" in EN 300 328.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
