Synchronizing Observation Channel Scanning Among Two Nodes

Perhaps an odd request, but does anyone have an idea how it might be possible to take two BLE observers (listening for unconnectable indirect advertisements) and do a (very rough) synchronization so that they are scanning across the three advertisement frequencies in a similar manner? If their clocks were some how synchronized would that do it?

again note I know that a tight synchronization is not possible but I feel that a coarse one should be achievable (assuming the necessary access is allowed by TI's BLE stack).

thanks.

  • Well , assuming a BLE connection between the two is not possible since they are observers, you would need a physical connection such as 2 GPIO's. You could have one device trigger an interrupt on the other device, then both devices would start scanning. You may need to account for some delay in the device receiving the interrupt for the ISR processing.
