Motion sensor in CC2541

I am new to this device and there is no motion information coming from the CC2541. Went back to the Android app and even though it is on, it does not show any X,Y,Z data. Is there something else I need to know about?

What is the HW of your CC2541? SensorTag? I just test my CC2541 SensorTag with Android phone and it is on problem to show Z/Y/Z data.

Just a CC2650 SensorTag. It was transmitting XYZ to the android but has stopped however other measurements (Temp, IR Temp, humidity etc) are working fine.

The Motion sensor is turned on according to the app, however I have turned it off and on just to be sure and motion still does not register. Is there another way that the motion sensor might have been turned on or off?

From FW rev 1.12 The SensorTag movement processing operates in two modes:

1) Wake on motion: if this option is set the SensorTag will provide motion data for about 10 seconds after a movement is detected. So under normal circumstances there is no data. Try it out by repeatedly touching or shaking the device.
2) Continuous data: the apps give you the option to turn the wake-on-motion off. Now it will provide data all the time (and drain your battery quicker).
