BTool slow value readout

Hello,

I'm using BTools to read the values of some characteristics in an altered version of the SimpleBLEPeripheral program. In BTools, when you click on an UUID, the value of that character refreshes. Only, this happens somewhat slow... I want the readout of the values to happen faster.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible, and if so, how? Do I have to change something in the SimpleBLEPeripheral software? is it a setting in BTool?

Hello,

The read only can only happen as fast as the connection interval (CI). Have you tried increasing the CI?

In BTool? Jup, Both "Min Connection Interval" and "Max Connection Interval" are set to 10 (12,5ms). Still slow... The reading takes about 2 sec/value.

What is your actual CI? You can see based on the connect event or link param update event.

Adv. Commands -> HCI -> HCI_LEConnectionUpdate

Default params is 6 (7.5ms), hit Send Command.

Wow, after sending that command (I changed nothing to the default values) reading is a whole lot faster! Thanks :)
Could you please explain what exactly that command did/changed? When I reset my Peripheral, the reading speed is back to normal (slow). Can I change something in my programming that makes the connection speed faster right from the booting?

I believe you would benefit from reviewing section "5.1 Generic Access Profile (GAP)" in the BLE SW Developer's Guide (SWRU393). Pay attention to the sub sections discussing Connection Parameters.
