CC2650 DevPack - XDS110 IAR Failed to connect to XDS Emulator

CC2650 Champs,

IAR is having some trouble connecting to my XDS110 Devpack.

Here are some other common problems that are not the issue.

1. The battery instealled before i plugged the Sensortag and it is enumerating just fine.

2. I have the emulation SW install in the default directory (C:\ti and NOT in the CCS directory!)

3. I've changed the IAR Emulator Target to XDS110.

Instead, it appears that IAR would like to update the firmware on the XDS110, but isn't providing me the option to click the Update button.

Any thoughts?

Aha! Got it. You'll need to update the Firmware on the device using the xdsdfu.exe utility. This can be found in the directory (C:\ti\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110) where the XDS emulator drivers were installed from the previous step above. There is a readme that walks you through the process. I ran my terminal (cmd.exe ) as administrator just in case.

Woops, spoke too soon. I tried to repeat the process on another DevPack and i was able to flash the devpack just fine.

However, IAR gives me the following error. (Although it works fine on the other DevPack!)

Hi Mike,

Are you using IAR 7.40.2? Also, it may be helpful to set the serial number to something other than 0 but unique to your other DevPack debuggers. This can be done with the xdsdfu utility with the -s option.

Like JXS said, try changing the serial number to something other than 0. I don't think the XDS drivers like that serial number.

TIABO/JXS,

I'm using IAR Version 7.40.2.8570 for Arm. I changed the serial number on the DevPack to 00001234 and 00003412 and that didn't resolve it. I'm also able to download using a different devpack with serial number 00000000 and the same FW. Open to suggestions, i'll let you know if i can figure out the delta.

Guys,

I tested the broken devpack on another SensorTag (with a working devpack) and it failed. And then the working Devpack on both SensorTags and it succeeded. I've concluded that the devpack is just bad, let me know if there's any other tests you'd like me to try before I scape it.

In either case the serial number did not seem to matter.

The Rev1.2.0 Devpack appears to enumerate fine.
