BLE_CENTRAL on CC2650EM

I am trying the run the example project ble_central on cc2650EM and it cannot find any devices. But when I use the BTool it connects to the device and even read all its characteristics. Is there any change that needs to be made to the sample project for it to work .

Just try on my SmartRF06EB+CC2650EM. One runs SimpleBLECentral and another runs SimpleBLEPeripheral. SimpleBLEPeripheral does advertising and SimpleBLECentral can find it. Do you run test on SimpleBLECentral and SimpleBLEPeripheral?

Hi Yikai,

I have an advertising BLE Peripheral device. I used the SimpleBLEPeripheral and it works as I could connect to it . But when I am running the SimpleBLECentral on the SmartRF06+CC2650EM and pressed the up button. But it shows 0 devices found. then I used the Btool and then I could connect to it and also read it.

I just have one set of board.

This is because of filtering device discovery results based on service UUID. You can remove "if (DEFAULT_DEV_DISC_BY_SVC_UUID == FALSE)" in " case GAP_DEVICE_DISCOVERY_EVENT:" of SimpleBLECentral_processRoleEvent.

So I should delete the line DEFAULT_DEV_DISC_BY_SVC_UUID == FALSE from the below block of code right ?

if (DEFAULT_DEV_DISC_BY_SVC_UUID == FALSE)
{
// Copy results
scanRes = pEvent->discCmpl.numDevs;
memcpy(devList, pEvent->discCmpl.pDevList,
(sizeof(gapDevRec_t) * scanRes));
}

so the complete if condition goes away ?

You can also set DEFAULT_DEV_DISC_BY_SVC_UUID to FALSE in the #define.
