ANT support for TI chip

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2564, CC2567

We are currently using PAN1326B modules which uses TI CC2564B chip. We are looking into supporting  ANT protocol in the system. I understand that  PAN1323 supports triple mode  BT Classic, BT LE  and ANT whereas PAN1327 supports BT classic and ANT.   All these modules are pin compatible with  PAN1326B . I have couple of questions.

  1. If we use PAN1323 or PAN1327 do we need any patches for supporting ANT.
  2. PAN1323 uses CC2564 device which is not recommended for new design.  Is there a problem in using this module.
  3. PAN 1327 uses CC2567 chip. I did not find any datasheet of this from TI  or Panasonic website. Do I need a separate  patch  for this device if  we decide to use this . Where can I find this patch. Is there any change needed in Bluetopia stack   to support this device.
  4. Is there any ANT related demo or example in TI website.

  • Hi Murshed,

    Please see below.

1.If we use PAN1323 or PAN1327 do we need any patches for supporting ANT.
[MS]: Yes, it is provided as part of the ANT SW package by Dynastream.

2.PAN1323 uses CC2564 device which is not recommended for new design. Is there a problem in using this module.
[MS]: There is PAN1323B which contains the CC2564B.

3.PAN 1327 uses CC2567 chip. I did not find any datasheet of this from TI or Panasonic website. Do I need a separate patch for this device if we decide to use this . Where can I find this patch. Is there any change needed in Bluetopia stack to support this device.
[MS]: Please refer to 1 above.

4.Is there any ANT related demo or example in TI website.
[MS]: No, it is provided as part of the ANT SW package by Dynastream.

  • Miguel,

Would the current BT stack remain the same between the CC2564 (CC2564B actually) and the CC2567? It's not clear whether the ANT SW package by Dynastream would replace the BT stack or just add on support for ANT+.

We'll try to reach to Dynastream in the meantime but would appreciate if you could clarify this a bit.

    Thanks, John
  • John,

No, the BT stack requires changes to enable the ANT support. Dynastream should be able to provide deeper details.
