CC2650 SensorTag, programming error

Try to following steps to update FW on  your CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER

1) Download and install "XDS Emulation Software Package"

2) Disconnect the sensor tag from DevPack

3) Attach DevPack to USB

4) go to c:\ti\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110 and open ReadMe.txt:

Sorry, I'm not using the 'Debugger DevPack', I'm using the SmartRF06 Evalutation Board. Any ideas on what to do?

Do you put battery into CC2650 SensorTag when you connect it to SmartRF06?

Have tried both with battery and without.

Can you take a picture on your connection between SmartRF06 and CC2650STK?

I am sure I've connected it properly, as I said it works with other sensorTags.

If another CC2650STK works, I think this one might be broken. I suggest you to contact TI estore to see if they can replace it for you.

If you use Flash Programmer 2, can you download FW to this CC2650 SensorTag?

I don't seem to be able to flash it using SmartRF Flash Programmer 2 v1.7.0.
When I try to connect to the CC2650 I get the 'Debug interface is locked. Aborting action. Only forced mass erase is possible.'
I get this message even when I have done a forced mass erase. Any ideas?

Output from forced mass erase:

>Initiate access to target: XDS-06EB122011E4A.

>Failed to read target memory.

>Error while reading memory range. Address 0x40091090.

>Start flash erase ...

>Erase finished successfully.

>Reset target ...

>Reset of target successfull.

Can you attach a snapshot of your Flash programmer 2 while SmartRF06 connects to your CC2650 SensorTag?

I am using CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER,  and have the same problem and get the same error message. So far I have tested the CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER on three different SensorTags but I get the same error. As  recommended by previous posts, I am using fresh battery on the SensorTag when connecting it to the devpack. I tried to update the firmware of the devpack using the 'TI emulator software' (xdsdfu command) but no luck. Even the Flash Programmer 2 (1.7.1) does not recognize the CC2650 chip on any of the three SensorTags! ... seems like the DEVPACK firmware is not compatible with the XDS110 driver.

Any idea!? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem. I would appreciate any help.

If you run "xdsdfu -m", what device version do you see? Mime is 2.2.4.2

It is 2.2.4.4, same as yours! ...  have you been able to successfully install the 'ti_emupack_setup_6.0.14.5_win32' ? Mine gives me an error at the end that it does not recognize the certification and can not install XDS110 driver and all other bunch of emulators.... However, I don't see any error on the device drivers in windows. So I believe my windows driver is the latest  because CCS is updated.

Try to do "CC26xx/CC13xx Forced Mass Erase" in Flash Programmer 2 and test again.

-SmartRF Flash programmer 2 does not recognize the cc2650 and does not connect to it. This is the case for all of my sensorTags... I bought these sensors in April. Is it possible that the batch of silicon (cc2650) on all of these eval boards was bad ?... :(

Can you attach the snapshot of your Flash Programmer 2 when CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER and CC2650STK with battery are connect to your desktop?

Try to run the following two commands to assign serial number to your XDS110V3

xdsdfu -m
xdsdfu -s xxxxxxxx -r

where xxxxxxxx is a serial number, any combination of letters and
numbers, from 1 to 8 characters in length.

Can you attach output after you issue "xdsdfu -m" in dos console?

Try to set serial number to 12345678 and attach your snapshot of Flash Programmer 2.

By the way, do you have another CC2650 SensorTag? If yes, try to connect another to CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER to test again.

Same Thing. Changed the serial number to 12345678 . Flash programmer-2 shows the same number (12345678) in front of the XDS110, but shows 'unknown' device; it does not recognize the cc2650.

I have 3 sensorTag boards, and as I said the same problem exist for all three of them. But I just have one CC DEV PACK .

I am giving up on the dev pack :( ... I think I will be ordering a xds100v3 and try cJTAG ....

Can you take a picture on your connection of CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER+CC2650 SensorTag?

Do you connect USB cable to USB port of your desktop or via a USB hub? If it goes through USB hub, try to connect to USB port directly. If there are other USB devices connect to your desktop, remove all of them and test again.

I run out of idea. I would suggest you to ask for replacement from TI estore.

You are welcome and it's good to know the new CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER works. By the way, you can ask for replacement to the broken one in TI estore.
