SmartRF06EB+CC2650 does not respond to serial commands sent through my PC application

I have created a PC application in LabVIEW basically to send HCI commands to SmartRF06EB+CC2650. I have successfully sent commands and received events to/from a CC2540 USB dongle; However, I did not receive any response from SmartRF06EB+2650. Both SmartRF06EB+CC2650 and CC2540 USB dongle haveHostTestApp firmware and they both work with BTool. In BTool I was able to send commands and receive events back from SmartRF06EB+CC2550. Can anyone help me figure out why my PC application does not receive any events from SmartRF06EB+CC2650? I used the same commands in hex as BTool used and my application has been verified with CC2540 USB dongle.

All guidance will be deeply appreciated since I am struck at this.

Hello. It is likely some port setting in LabVIEW. I would recommend taking a logic capture of the wokring case (BTool) and comparing it to a logic capture of the fail case.

Hi Tim,

Thank you very much for your advise. I have checked the COM port setting for LabVIEW and it is identical to BTool's which is Baud Rate: 115200, Flow Control: None, Data Bit: 8, Parity: None, Stop Bits: One. I do not think it is the COM setting since with the same setting I am able to work with a CC2540 USB dongle. What else I can try and if there is any tool to aid me troubleshooting the issue?

Clearly LabVIEW's output does not match BTool somehow so I would recommend comparing logic captures as mentioned in my previous comment.

Tim,

I am not familiar with comparing logic captures. What is it and what tools are needed?

By logic capture, I mean a digital capture of the UART communication on the pins. You could do this at minimum with an oscilloscope but something like a Salae logic device is much more convenient: https://www.saleae.com/
