A question on CC2640 please

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2640

What OS type of it? RTOS or?

  • Hi Jacky,

I am having some trouble understanding your quetion. Are you asking what type of OS is supported on the CC2640? I know TI-RTOS supports it. Or you may wish to contact the CC26xx forum if you are looking for other options.

    Best regards,
    Vincent
  • Hola Vincent,

    Thank you very so much.

  • Hola Vincent,

Sorry to bother you again, I have some application questions about CC2640 as below:

    1. Can CC2640 using external FLASH?if yes, can I use this FLASH to store CC2640's code and the audio library which build from our customer?

if this FLASH cannot store CC2640's code and the audio library at the same time, can I add another external FLASH or EEPROM for audio library storage?

    2. Can you recommend the audio IC which suits CC2640?

    3. Does CC2640 suits below application?

Our customer's end product is blood sugar meter and we want use CC2640 module to connect customer's main board by UART or SPI interface to let

blood sugar meter as a smart blood sugar meter which can connect cell phone or PAD by RF, and the app will indicate the corresponding data.

So we will using two ways as below:

    1) Main board will transmit data to CC2640 by UART or SPI interface and then this data will be transmitted again to the cell phone or PAD by BLE.

    2) Main board will use UART or SPI interface to control CC2640 to let it playback the audio library which stored in FLASH by I2S.

  • Jacky,

This question does not really seem to be specific to TI-RTOS. I went ahead and moved this thread over to the device forum in hopes that it will get a faster response there.
  • Hola David,

Is someone can help to answer this questions?

  • Hola Jacky,

We have many customers making glucose meters with CC26XX ,this should work fine. However the details you provide on audio are very unclear.
The CC26XX cannot execute code from a library in an external flash but it is possible to e.g. retrieve audio samples from the flash and play them. It is also unclear what you mean by "audio IC" so I am afraid I cannot help out on the question.

    Regards,
    Svend
