Is it possible to create an image for OAD using CCS for CC2650?

I am trying to create an image for OAD using CCS, but the step by step document available is only for IAR.

Is there a pdf that explains how to do this using CCS? IAR seems to be too expensive!!

Also the example from TI that u get in BLE 2.1 OADTarget is only available for IAR.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Mikonos,

For on-chip OAD, only IAR is supported at this time. CCS is supported for off chip (ext flash) OAD. Please note that even with on chip OAD, the available flash space is quite limited and you will only have a few kB to implement your application code.

As an update:

On-chip OAD is now support on both CCS and IAR with BLE-Stack 3.x on CC2640R2.

Hello Santhananarayanan,

As Sean mentions, on chip OAD with CCS is available on BLE-Stack v3.x for CC2640R2F. For CC2650/CC2640, on chip OAD requires IAR as specified in the BLE-Stack v2.2.1 OAD guide. Also, due to the increased memory availability in CC2640R2F, we do recommend this device for on chip OAD.
