CC2650 program execution problem after power cycle

We are facing strange problem with custom board based on CC2650.

When we connect JTAG emulator XDS200 with CC2650, the program executes and works as expected (like we are able to toggle GPIOs, communicate using UART etc...)

We are also able to successfully write flash using debug interface.

After flashing we power cycle the board but then nothing happens after that. It looks program doesn't start executing.

We have tested 10 boards out of that 5 boards having such issue, other 5 boards are working fine after power cycle.

For troubleshooting we have verified below thing:

1. Tried to read back the flash again and verified that content written same as expected.

2. Verified reset circuit & its relation with VCC.

3. Different the crystal parts if there is clocking problem

but none of the trial worked.

Can anybody help me to explain possible problems that causes this strange behaviour?

The failing 5 boards works fine with XDS200 attached? Can you post your schematic?

Hi Christin,

Yes failing 5 boards are working fine with XDS200 attached when we run program from CCS.

Hi,
It's just a thought - may be there is some high current spikes (due to CC2590) and problem refers to power line....

I would start by looking at the following wiki: . In your schematic, I see that for the CC2590 part, you have not followed the CC2541-CC2590 component values for the CC2590 part. I would highly recommend that you change the decoupling and comp on the ANT pin of the CC2590 according to this design as you might risk that the CC2590 becomes unstable with the wrong load. I would also remove C72. C71 should be 10 uF. How does your layout look like, have you followed our ref designs? As the layout is just as important as the schematic. To verify issues with your power supply, you could try to power the CC2650 and CC2590 with an external power supply.
