CC2541 - upload encrypted img

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BLE-STACK

Hello,

is it posible upload encrypted image via Bluetooth without using OAD Manager (OADManager + SmartRF05 board)?

I tested with BLE Device Monitor 2.1.0 for Windows, but report the error: "This image does not contain an OAD Service....'. Unencrypted image wokrs correctly.

BLE device monitor for Anroid 6.0.1 does not work.

Thanks a lot

  • Hello,

Can you provide more details on the steps you followed or how someone could replicate your issue?

Also, BLE Device Monitor for Android is not supported by TI.

    Best wishes
  • Hello,
I’m using BLE-Stack 1.4.1.43908b, CC2541EM with EBL and CC2541EM with HostTestApplication and UART -> USB converter.
Device monitor 2.1.0 works properly including OAD with no encryption.
I worked according to BLE Developer's Guide for Over-the-Air Download for CC254x version 1.3.

    1. Creating super IMG (BEM + SimpleBLEPeripheral - OAD-Encrypted-ImgA)
    2. Uploading via SmartRF Flash Programmer + CC Debugger
    3. Creating .bin SimpleBLEPeripheral - OAD-Encrypted-ImgB
    4. Uploading to CC2541EM with EBL using SerialBootTool v1.3.2
    5. Downloading the Encrypt Image
    6. Trying to upload .bin via BLE Device monitor with error notice „This image does not contain an OAD Service“....

Is it possible to use different SW under windows or iOS, which doesn’t control OAD Service in the encrypted .bin file?

    Thank you.
