HCI compliance continous tx and rx tests with HostTest project

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650

Hi

I have a cc2650 running on HostTestx connected to external MCU over uart.

I have been able to execute most of the GAP/GATT functionalities using the TI VS commands from the external MCU.

Now, the requirement is to do compliance tests, similar to the one that is done using SmartRF studio tool. We cannot use SmartRF tool since

the cc2650 is embedded into our custom board.  I tried BTool on SmartRF06 EVB and played around with those HCI_Ext and HCI command related to the HCI_LEContinousTx , Rx but I don't see they are working like SmartRF06 does.

Is there any documentation available that explains this? What options I got to explore?

I presume HostTest firmware should work for these compliance tool, since SmartRF tool works.

Thanks

Damo

  • Hi Damo,

Please look at this page for the modifications to test for FCC:

    Best wishes

  • Hi Zahid,

Thanks for the quick response. I was under the impression that we can use the HCI_LEReceiverTest, HCI_LETransmitterTest, HCI_LETend for easy configuration. I am also looking at HCIExt_ModemTestTx, HCIExt_ModemTestRx, HCIExt_EndModemTest for easy integration to my TI VS driver.

Can't I use the above commands? are you saying even for these do I need to make changes to the code?

To give a back ground idea on this, the following is our compliance team requirement for cc2650 BLE.

Our compliance requirement is classified into these commands:

To test the BlueTooth radio, at the prompt, type:
    do3 freq 2402 pow 0

    BlueTooth Power

This selects the power at which transmission test signals are generated. The available power levels (in dB) are as follows:

    +5 to -21          (in 1 dB steps)

    Examples:
    do3 pow 5
    do3 pow 0
    do3 pow -21

    BlueTooth Channel

This selects the channel at which the test is performed. The available channels are listed below, with standard channels in bold.

Specify the frequency instead of the channel
    Examples:
    do3 freq 2402
    do3 freq 2480
